So here we are....

June 1996: Sitting by a camp fire looking up at thousands of stars in Yosemite National Park, I started thinking I could so fall in love with this guy!  Not sure if I was ready for that or not.  And honestly it was over a year and half before I ever spoke those words out loud.
March 18, 1998: I will never forget these words, " You have made me the happiest person in the world.  And I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy!  I Love You.  Will you marry me?"

So there we were, young, in love and completely confused about how to make one another happy.  What a path we had to travel.  But the journey has been amazing, surreal, an experience I would do all over again to learn the lesson and live this life.  When you learn to stop depending on another person to MAKE you happy, you find true unity.  Then you discover what two shall become one actually means.  Everything in my life has led me to this life we live.  And live to the fullest, we do!   We joke sometimes about Holy Cow, what if we had a baby in our 20's!  Let me tell you we had a lot of growing up to do but even more so we had a lot of getting to know one another to do.  The great thing is neither of us sees ourselves as a "Grown up" and we look forward every day to what else we need to learn...Looking forward to the next decade or two and what life has to teach us, together.

Whee...Swinging thru life...

I LOVE when their little one word sentences start stringing together together. I love when they want you to hold them just for 1 second then they run off again...Everything about mommyhood rocks my world.  I love that my kids are the most adorable EVER and no one can tell me otherwise.  That's how it should be.

I love their imagination and creativity.  I love that they absorb everything around them.  And I strive to make all of that innocent and sweet and right.  And I LOVE a child's honesty.  Love your day today...because I am loving mine!  Don't let it fly by too fast....

Merry Merry

Hey Mr Grinch, You are not stealing my Christmas!  Scream!!!!! "Iiiieeeyyyyaaa!!!" So much fun we can't even contain ourselves.  This time of year is one of my favorites.  On equal playing field are Valentines and my birthday, oh and the boys birthdays too.  The lights, the decorations, Christmas Eve candle light service, the thrill of thinking about someone and what would make them happy, put a smile on their face, buying or making that special something, the sound of tons of paper tearing, crumbling...I LOVE it!  All of it! I am the kid in the candy store this time of year. Bradford asked me the other day why the Grinch tried to steal Christmas.  My answer: because he was sad and lonely and did not understand how much joy Christmas time can bring.  He answered with "He had his dog so why was he still lonely?"  This was a great opportunity for me to explain to him compassion, love and the power of giving.  At this age children are so excited to learn and soak in everything we have to offer. I hope my kids soak up all that the Christmas Season means and how special it is to GIVE of ourselves to others!  Even to the Grinches out there--You know who you are and we still love ya!
